Chapter 1 : The First Without War

at the gate of the accademy a Uchiha Torame and his mother arrived, they both were dressed in black simple clothes, a sad mood occupied them. still standing in the gate opening the mother kissed the boy on his forhead. 'you will pass for sure, nobody in our entire Clan doubts this' after saying this she gave him a soft kiss on his forhead. 'i'm proud to call you my son Torame, and i am sure that dad is very proud of you too... now go and focus on the exam' Torame walked trough the gate and his mother kept looking at him for a while before walking away.

it was exactly 6 years since his father got killed, he would make him proud, failure was not an option today, his father gave way to much for him. he had to succeed.

Torame walked to an empty place where no people were and sat down on a bench consentrating on the exam.

While he continued observing his classmates Kenshi would notice that Kouhi spotted him . He saw the grin on her face which couldn’t mean anything good. But with Kouhi you could never know. Kenshi would watch her while she walked towards the tree he was in and then she climbed it. She started talking to him and Kenshi wasn’t really used to that.

“Morning Sarutobi-chan. I just wanted to get away from the others. Most of them are complaining about how nervous they are and stuff like that. And I don’t really want to hear any of that.” He replied while looking at all the students which had gathered down there. “How about you? Are you nervous?” Kenshi asked as the turned his head away from the crowd and looked at Kouhi.

The young Sarutobi girl smiled cheerful at the Uzumaki heir and shook her head no with large motions.
"Nope! Not in the least!" She said and then gave the boy a confirming nod " I am the grand daughter of the third Hokage afterall, a prodigy. It's even in my name. I am the best." She would say.
Her eyes would then open again as she looked over Kenshi once more curiously before looking back down at all the kids assembling in front of the school. "But to be honest, the amount of graduates does make me just a little bit nervous. I mean, don't the official rules state that only a maximum of 12 can pass at a time? There is more than double of that present already." She gulped softly she blinked having a personal realization before a sweat-drop appeared by the side of her head as she looked over to Kenshi appologetic as she chuckled uncomfortably excusing herself.
"Aaaaaah ha ha ha haaah...J...just kidding. S...sorry for bringing that up. You didn't wanna hear stuff like that." She said biting down on her teeth a bit to shut herself up before she would say anything more that wasn't needed and could better be left unsaid, she hated her own big mouth sometimes.

As the time was nearing 10 minutes were left before the school would open it's doors.
Suddenly the mostly quite crowd of kids would begin to start a commotion as quite a few of them if not the say most would begin to move towards the gate of the school grounds. It wasn't time yet so they weren't going inside yet obviously, but then what could they be making such a fuss about?

Their voices raising in the air would give away the answer to that question as exited voices of the graduates would emerge flowing in and out of one another as they exclaimed in no particular order and like a chaotic bunch. "Hokage-sama!"
"Lord Hokage!"
"Ohw my God it's him!"
"EEEEEEEEEEEE!!! The Hokage is here!"
"Ohw my god Ohw my god Ohw my god! It's him."
"Is he really here? HOKAGE SAMAAAAAA!!!"
A sea of emotions would engulf the the school grounds, varying from excitement, to fear , to worry, to calmness, to happiness to downright panic.

At the gate of the school was standing Uchiha Itachi in his full Hokage gear aside from the hat, one of his hands tucked inside his white cloak as he allowed it to hang down at his chest from the opening in the cloak.
The Uchiha would smile happily and friendly seeing the lively reactions of the kids to his arrival.
He was escorted by 4 ANBU that were fully equipped and armed as well as 3 Academy teachers which were there to take the examination.
"Now now kids....calm down and let the Hokage pass please." One of the teachers said trying to get the kids to clear a patch for them towards the main door.
The kids however seemed a bit unruly still not listening much to what he was saying. All though this Itachi's eyes remained closed or peered only slightly at least and his expression smiling. The smile would remain near stoic as he would slowly open his eyes and raise his left arm up pointing at the door of the school with his index finger. As if it was a command suddenly all the kids and even the teacher would move out of the way clearing a path just wide enough for the 6th Hokage to pass through. Itachi would let out a small chuckle and proceed towards the door of the school in a slow calm pace as the kids would still be jumping and shouting his way exited but it was as if some invisible force prevented them from stepping into his path now. As he walked Itachi would glance around at the various academy students around him, his expression seemed calm and cheerful but something about the look in his eyes showed that he was perhaps a bit tense.

Kenshi would smile back and he would laugh at the end of the first two sentences. This girl really has a lot of confidence in herself. She even states that she is the best. Maybe she is and maybe she isn’t. They would just have to find out during the exam. He would look at the students together with Kouhi but then she started saying some stuff that he didn’t want to hear. He even forgot about the fact that only 12 could graduate at the same time. How could something so important slip his mind?

Even after hearing that, Kenshi was still quite confident about himself and his skills. If only 12 student can pass the exam then he just had to be one of the 12. Shortly after she said that she apologized having said what she just said. He turned his attention back to Kouhi and smiled.

“Don’t worry about it, there is nothing to be nervous about. You are here in the exam class as an 10 year old. Being here at your age should mean that you have quite some skill.” He said trying to encourage her. “I’m not sure if you are the best, but you could be one of the best here. Don’t forget that you are not the only Heir in the exam class.”

After he said that he suddenly heard that most of the students started shouting. It appeared that the Hokage arrived on the academy grounds. Kenshi had no idea why they were all so excited. He might be the Hokage but aside from that he was just a man. After a short time the Hokage would point towards the academy doors and a path would create itself as the students stepped aside so the Hokage could pass through. His arrival should mean that it wouldn’t be long before the exams would start.

Ryochoku was in a rotation of calm and tension within the minutes of time. His vision was locked on the ground but his mind was somewhere else...until some shaking on his left side pulled him back to reality. Instinctively , he turned his sight to the left and it was his sister. "NII-CHAN, THE HOKAGE IS HERE!!!!!!"

Not many chance would he see his sister act so excited but really, he just wasn't in the mood for some sightseeing. "Nah, I am not interested."

"OH COME ON, AT LEAST LET ME SIT ON YOUR SHOULDER SO I CAN HAVE THE BEST VIEW OUT THERE?" Ryochoku looked at his sister and the desire in her eyes were just so strong he couldn't refuse the proposal. "Alright." He said without much emotion on his face as he lifted his sister up to his left shoulder.

The Hokage was already half way there when he stacked his sister into position and walked to the door. Being the taller guy there did offered him a good view of the man in charge of the village. He really wasn't sure why the Hokage was here, it's just a regular graduation test anyway and he felt his presence would probably be more useful elsewhere. It was hard to think too much with his sister being so active on his shoulder though, it was like having a gigantic bug crawling around his shoulder.

"Hey, can't you be a bit calmer up there." Those words weren't helpful at all as his sister was still as exciting as hell on his shoulder. He shook his head as he carried his sister through the academy door. Well, at least they were getting closer to the actual test.

While Hyuuga was contenting himself with watching his fellow studens he also noticed the growing comotion near the gate. He looked and was surprised to see that the fifth Hokage was there, along with their teachers and the ANBU. When the Hokage was close to their little group he stood up and bowed respectfully. "Hokage Itachi-sama" he said reverently in hos bow. He wasn't sure if the Hokage would notice, but his family was quite strict on being respectfull to his elders.

As Itachi walked between the students towards the door of the Academy he would notice the young Hyuuga pop up and bow for him polite and respectful. The Uchiha would return the bow to the young boy and give him a friendly smile. "Hyuuga Sumiyaka..." He would call the boys full name as a greeting acknowledging the Hyuuga. "Going to make the main family proud today I hope." The 6th Hokage said closing his eyes a bit in an amused smile, it wasn't a question, despite the formulation, it was more of a statement.
Itachi would then proceed to turn back towards the door as he would see a green haired Yamanaka girl trying to get a look at him and his escort causing a light chuckle from the Village leader. He would shake his head and continue on.
As he was almost near the door he would notice a boy taller than the others carrying a young girl on his shoulders.
Glancing over at the boy the Hokage's expression would suddenly turn serious and tense when his eyes fell upon Ryochoku. His eyes shortly connected with the boy and a short burst of energy could be felt rushing through the boy's body for a moment, was it a Jutsu, was it just the Hokage's sheer force of chakra, or maybe just his strong intimidating will. But whatever it was it was gone in a blink and it was as if the man had never looked at the Half-Blood Tenshu. Was it but a vision maybe? His eyes would seem so cold in those few seconds that they connected with those of the Tenshu. His sister wouldn't have seemed to notice the look that was shot his way.

Now at the door the Hokage would turn around as the ANBU members positioned themselves at his sides.
"Good Morning to all of you. And what a nice pleasant sunny morning it is." Itachi would begin speaking.

"I hope you're all here for we are about to start this off in just a few minutes. But before we do I wanted to congratulate all of you on being here and having made it this far. For it is you, the new generation, the young generation of Konohagakure that is the main focus of our activity as a village. As some of you might know, the Village itself was started in order to prevent Shinobi kids from being forced into combat, living life in fear and danger every single day and not having a place where they could be at peace, relaxed, play around, enjoy life and learn at their own steady pace to show improvement. " He paused shortly before he would continue his speech.

"Only a couple of years ago, this was not the case as we were facing yet another Shinobi World War. Even this village this save haven had become a battlefield for the first year of that war. Some of you......most actually probably still remember those dreadful days. I myself remember having been forced to lose quite a bit of my eyesight in order to create a giant wall of black flames around the village in order to prevent our enemies from entering, if it wasn't for my younger brother and my nephew I would have never been able to pull it off. However, without the shinobi of this Village I wouldn't be hokage now whatsoever. It is you the village that makes me who I am, the 6th Hokage. And I am proud to say that it is all of you who are our pride and joy, as it is here, today, now...that we see the reason for our struggles come to fruition once more as we can happily and proudly announce our very first Genin Graduation Exam after the war. The first time we are able to do this without the fear of an enemy attack. Without the fear of interruptions. Not all of you will make it today, but whether you do or not, today is still a reason to celebrate our peace, our freedom and our safety here in the Village Hidden in the Leafs. I congratulate you all on being here once more and wish each and every one of you the best of luck." Itachi finished his speech and made a bow to the audience of students as one of the techers opened the door and Itachi and his ANBU escort would enter as a commotion started again kids wanting to follow the Village head inside but being stopped by 2 of the ANBU which remained at the door and the 2 other teachers that didn't go inside as one of them grabbed a list and tried to calm the kids down.
"Hey now! Easy easy! Don't push! You'll each get your shot. But we've got a list to follow here! Calm dooooown!!!"

Mana was perfectly calm as the Hokage entered, a look of absolute peace on her face. While it was definitely humbling to be near such an incredibly powerful individual, she had set her mind on the task at hand... Not failing this next test. Very much unlike Yoru, who seemed to be freaking out...

She placed her hand gently upon her friend's shoulder and smiled. "Everything is going to be fine, you're ready" some comforting words with a gentle smile usually did the trick after all. She took her own place in line and awaited her call after that.

The Hyuuga nodded. "Ofcourse Hokage-sama" he said and made a short bow again before the hokage went on with his walk. He didn't notice the 'moment' between the Hokage and the older boy, it wasn't meant for him to see. He watched patiently as the Hokage walked to the front of the building and look at the assambled students.
He listened intensely to the Hokages' speech, feeling proud that he belonged to this new generation. After his speech he waited patiently, looking at students getting more nervous by the minute. "I'm okay...I'm okay.." he whispered to himself and relaxed a bit more. He smiled to himself and felt ready for what was to come.

Mana did her best to hide any sort of shock, her face a portrait of calm at the moment. "Then you'll just have to show them something else you know. That's all you can do." she didn't envy her friends position in this, after all had she been there she would be a bit of a mess too.

As it was, she had prepared as much as she could, learning the basics as well as a bit of more advanced jutsu just incase. But she felt the exam wouldn't call on her for those.

"Then don't fail, it's as simple as that. " Cryptic advice, but it was rather simple and easy to understand. "You can't go into that room thinking you are going to fail" the Hatake girl nodded "You're going to do fine, lets leave it at that"

the Uchiha boy had looked at the Hokage with all respect from a distance, he was the leader of Konoha after all and an elder brother to the Uchiha clan leader. after he heard the speach from the Hokage he moved closer so he could hear who would be called in by the teacher, he ended up near the Hatake, Yamanaka and the Hyuuga: 'morning' was all he said and he didnt look like he said that to get attention, more like he wanted to be polite. he wasn't realy talkative today.

Shikataro , at the appearance of the Hokage, shot up and tried to make his way through the mob of students. Itachi's reputation was legendary and his achievements were the stuff that every genin dreamed of. Being an ultra spy, perform jutsu so high class you had to redraw the geographical map afterwards, defeat ultra strong opponents, even becoming Ho-frikken-kage. And then the ANBU, selected for their mastery of stealth, infiltration, spying and assassination. True hardcore ninja.
~I heard is is an expert at shuriken jutsu, oooooow I'd kill someone to see him in action~
As Itachi walked by Shikataro shot into a bow so stiff that his body was at a perfect 90 degree angle with his arms stretched clenched in fists behind him.
"Hokage Sama!! Good Afternoon!!"
Whether he was acknowledged or not when the hokage passed, he didn't care. He shot back up into "normal" (well ok stiff) posture and followed the rest into the academy like a robot on auto pilot.

Listening to the Hokage's speech his eyes shone with fire and admiration while he listened with a serious expression that was too absurd to be taken seriously.
"Hokage Sama's words are so moving and inspirational. Yush I'm all fired up."

Despite it was already a good amount of seconds after the brief stare with the Hokage, Ryochoku couldn't really shake off the intimidation yet. It was kind of weird really, they shared the similarity of crimson red eyes(singular for Ryo) but yet the Hokage's eyes just felt so much powerful compared to his. Such power...is that the capability of a shinobi so high in level? He wondered how it feels to be so powerful, he had always hoped for a more peaceful and eventless life but if one could achieve such power, it would seem like shinobi can be an awesome job.

He was lucky to be in he safety of the noble house really, the war from what he heard was bad, really bad, lots of death all over the world and something inside him was thinking this wasn't the end of the war yet. He knew things were never so easy on the backstage, he saw the ugliness of politics inside his own house, there's too much complexion and manipulation all around. Of course, he picked up a few things over the political play but he wasn't really sure those were good things to do.

The speech went on while he was partially in his own thought and partially listening. His sister seemed to be much calmer than just now on his shoulder. They were at the very behind of the group, there's no need for him to be an ass stick to the front and blocking part of the students in the process. After a while, he felt something poking his knee. It was his sister, now on the ground, in a bowing stance.

"Nii-chan, bow down!" She whispered but with a sense of urgency in her voice. Ryochoku wondered why but he quickly bowed down before checking the surrounding. Everyone was bowing really and with his height he could see the Hokage bowing too. Damn! I almost screwed up. It would be one bad situation if he didn't bow while the Hokage was, that's utter disrespect.

After the speech, it was time for the test, a wave of children were "tsunamiing" the door but Ryochoku just waited behind there and his sister too stayed at her own spot.

"Nii-chan, the Hokage is so cool! One day we will be like him, right?" His sister asked. He wasn't sure what to reply on this one. His sister seemed too calm for the test, how good for her to be that good at her age.

"Well, we are on our first step here with the upcoming test." His sister nodded and rushed to join the students upfront, eager to take the test. Ryochoku followed but on a much slower pace to join the students.

While in line for the waiting he heard the soft voice of the small boy. "Morning Torame-kun" he said back out of habit and to be polite. He seemed a lot less hyped up and paranoid then yesterday. But then again, a lot of people were getting introvert becouse of the nearing tests.

Hayate wasn't quite as impressed by the Hokage's arrival as the others it would seem, crossing his arms as their leader walked by, looking him over with some interest. Seeing as it was almost time for them to take this test, Hayate decided to begin preparing himself for whatever lay ahead.. He wasn't about to fail now.

As two of the ANBU guarded the door, one Academy teacher stood next to them calling up names for the contenders allowing them to proceed inside one by one.
The kids would enter in turn but none would exit the building after.
After a few kids went inside the following names would be called;

"Uchiha Torame!"
"Yamanaka Yorukasa!"
"Nara Shikataro!"

The teacher would call out the names and then check his list.
"The three of you, proceed to classroom 27 and enter in turn, according to the order I called your names in." He explains and steps aside glancing over the still rather large crowd of contenders.
"The rest of you will have to wait here for now. But don't worry, you all get a shot at this."

Hyuuga sighed and looked at Yorukasa-chan and Shikataro-chan and the boy. "Good luck you three" he said and smiled to you three. He looked to the teacher and the ANBU guards, smiling to himself as he was getting exited now. "I'll show them.." he said in a whisper with that same smile.

The teacher at the door watched as a few more groups entered upon being called inside. Only a few were still left outside, but none have come out as of yet.

"Hatake Mana, Masamune Hayate, Hyuuga Sumiyaka, you three are up next. Proceed to classroom 30 please." He would then call out.
