Chapter 2: Room 18

The classroom was an ordinary room with a large desk at the front where the 3 teachers were seated. All other desks were lined up against the wall. One of the teachers bent over the desk and called down the hallway.

"Tenshu Ryochoku, Sarutobi Kouhi and Uzumaki Kenshi. Please enter"

Walking the academy corridor for hopefully the last time, Ryochoku couldn't shake off the feeling of he will be missing it. It's kind of a mixed feeling actually as for one, he would not like to stay there for four extra months but then, he knew he would miss the place. The shinobi academy was his first experience in a large social circle. He didn't like most of it nor he participated enough, especially in the social aspect of it, but it was an experience that he knew he might not get anymore in the future.

His mind recalled the images of students playing around the corridor, chatting with their friends and so on as he walked and eventually, he was there in front of classroom 18. Opening the door, he stepped into the largely empty room. He was the first to be there, if you could count out the three teachers already sitting there and so he didn't move too far from the entrance, waiting for the two clan heirs.

Kouhi ran into the classroom with a bit of a frown and gave Ryochoku a little push to the chest as if to bump him to the site taking the central spot in front of the table and the teachers.

"Hello everyone! Sarutobi Kouhi is here! Ready to be amazed? Cause I'm sure ready to amaze!" The little girl exclaimed cheerful.
She glanced back to Ryochoku and then quickly to Kenshi before grinning a confident grin giving the two each a nod.
"And my classmates are ready to amaze too. Not that they can ever be as amazing as little me....but hey! Shall we get this over with, huh?" The girl just blurted out fast-talking her words and not allowing or caring for any interruptions.

Kenshi was making his way towards the classroom. Once he reached it Kouhi would run into the classroom and once again she was going for the attention. When he entered Kenshi would bow towards the teachers. Kensi took place next to Ryochoku while listening to what Kouhi was saying.

Ready to amaze too? Kenshi wasn't sure he could do that. He might know several jutsu's but they weren't really flashy ones. Once Kouhi stopped talking he waited till the teachers would tell them what to do.

Ryochoku sure didn't like the sudden push at all, his eyes stared at the girl with a mix of yellow-red fury but only for a second. It was quite clear that the girl was in her own world of showing off so she probably didn't see it. While Ryochoku could care less when the girl was showing off to others, when she touched him for a bit, that changed. The Konoha team assigner better not put that girl on his team, he would really screw her up if he could, just to show her that she ain't as amazing as she thought herself to be.

The Uzumaki heir was also in the room now and he was as calm as he normally would be. It should be almost time for the examination, they were only waiting for the instruction.

"Alright then..." spoke one of the teachers. "Would Ryochoku san please go first. We are interested what the Tenshu clan has brought this year."

Ryochoku was actually surprised that the teachers knew about the Tenshu house. Well, not really surprised as they probably knew that because he was inserted into the academy half way because his house was pulling the plug behind the scene but he wasn't sure if Tenshu was anything special. Well, he understood the "we are better" philosophy of Tenshu but ultimately he was so much ordinary compared to the other two students inside the room. They were clan heirs and not just any clan but shinobi clans that could do something normal people can't do. Him? There's no difference between him and the mass of non-clan shinobis out there. Still, it gave him some pressure especially when he thought about his sister delivering the goods in another classroom.

He took a deep breath while walking to the middle of the room, giving Kouhi a light shove if she's in his path as kind of a payback on his way there and gave the sensei and judges, in this case, a bow. "I have genjutsus but I don't have chakra seal with me now so I can only perform a targeted one. I will be casting it on you, Shimizu-sensei." Shimizu-sensei is one of the sensei that covered the basic of genjutsu in the academy, which makes him the perfect choice in this case.

After a few handseals, Shimizu-sensei and only him could see a fireball dropping toward him from the sky above the ceiling. For the purpose of demonstration, there's no pain at all for Shimizu-sensei since it would be kind of offensive to mentally "burn" a sensei. As soon as the fireball landed, Ryochoku stopped the illusion to proceed to the second jutsu.

The second one was merely academic level as he popped 6 exact copy of himself out there. His best was 8 bunshin at once but he could only do that once in a blue moon and he didn't want to risk that. He dispersed all of the clones with a swipe of his hand before proceeding for his third jutsu, transforming himself exactly like the desks on the side of the classroom and seconsd later, back to himself.

"If that's not enough I still have Suiton...but I need some water to do that." He said, waiting for the judges' comments.

The teachers looked at each other, clearly something was bothering them. One of them reached under the table and pulled out a gallon bottle of water.
"Ok, let's see it then..."

The Tenshu teen formed a few handseals, connecting the chakra with the water and molded it into a whip on his left hand. He swung it toward one of the tables on the side and the whip went around it a few laps, holding it firmly for a while. The whole whip went away as soon as Ryochoku released the whip from his hand.

The teachers made marks on their check board and exchanged worried glances. One of them stood up and spoke. The teacher frowned as if he just swallowed something with a very bad taste.""We regret to inform you as is stands we cannot award you the title of genin." He sighed, relief perhaps, and spoke again "However under mitigating circumstances you are allowed to do a re-evaluation, please stand by for now on the school grounds."

What the fuck?! Ryochoku almost didn't hold himself in, one observed thorough enough might saw that emotion in like half a second but he kept his face emotionless for now. Well, he could control his facial expression but the anger inside himself was still burning strong. He didn't say anything, merely giving the sensei team another bow before leaving the room. He closed the door gently behind him and started to walk the same path as he went in.

Damn it, damn it, damn it... Ryochoku couldn't stop thinking what went wrong. Should he protest just now instead of swallowing the answer? Nah, that would just make him look desperate and stupid in front of the others. He did show more than the academic worth of jutsus and also there's ninjutsu and genjutsu for variety. What's missing was taijutsu...which he sucked at, but that's probably not the reason.

He knew he should be focusing on the re-evaluation but if that's just another similar display, then he doubted it would be any different. Sadly, there's not many things in his arsenal left. He could tie himself with strings, escape from ropes or do the area genjutsu but he doubted the result would differ.

Deep in his thought, he bumped into a student on his way to the test. The student fell on the ground and their eyes contacted each other for a bit. Normally, he would lend the boy a hand but now? He could care less about the others. He left the boy on the ground as he moved on and came out of the building later. The crowd was already pretty thin outside the building, he didn't do much else but went back to his spot and waited there.

One of the ANBU would approach Ryochoku and nod to the boy.
"Tenshu-san, please report to room 30 for your re-evaluation, Masamune Hayate should be waiting there too. The Hokage will be arriving there shortly to give your re-evaluation."
The masked man explained and nodded again before turning around and stepping back towards the door.



The Academy teachers would sigh a bit uncomfortable and look back at the other two students. "Ah....Alright...Uhm..." One started.
"Uzumaki Kenshi...you're up next." He nodded to the Uzumaki heir.

It was quicker than he thought. Ryochoku gave the ANBU a nod of his own and proceeded to walk into the building once again.

Kenshi was shocked when he heard that Ryochoku didn't pass. But he didn't have time to think about it because it was his turn now. He took place in the middle of the room and he took a deep breath. He bowed to the teachers and then he would start with his jutsus.

Kenshi took on the form of the teacher that called his name. 'That's one'. He thought by himself and then he used the next technique. After forming some handseals there 4 clones would appear next to him. They all looked like the teacher that Kenshi transformed in. 'That's two'. For the last technique Kenshi used kawarimi with a chair which was on the side of the room. 'And that's three'. Kenshi would walk towards the chair in the middle of the room. After that he made his clones disappear and he undid the Henge.

"I know that these jutsus are all basic jutsus. I'm able to use a Doton Jutsu but that jutsu can't be used here in the classroom. Besides the that I can also use a Sealing Jutsu. But for that I require a sealing tag and a little bit of blood of the one I could use it on and I don't have those things right now." Kenshi now had to wait till what the teachers had to say. His performance wasn't really great. But he really hoped that one of them had a sealing tag with them so he could show them his sealing technique.

The teachers nodded and then applauded to the performance looking a bit uncomfortable between one another once more before one of them would announce.

"Uzumaki Kenshi...." He would take a short break there releasing a sigh.
"Congratulations on obtaining the rank of Gening, please step up and claim your reward, the Konoha Forhead Protector. "

Another one of the teachers nodded to the 10 year old Sarutobi girl.
"Sarutobi Kouhi...you are up next. Please show us what you are capable of."

Kenshi was glad to hear that he passed but he was also a bit curious. He thought that maybe they wanted to see him perform his sealing jutsu. But apparently they didn't need to see it. But also, why did he pass and Ryochoku didn't? He asked himself this question because Ryochoku showed better things then he did.

But no time for questions, he passed and that is all that matters. Kenshi walked towards the teacher to receive his forehead protector. After he accepted the forehead protector he would take the chair from the middle of the room and he placed it back where it was before Kenshi moved it.

He would walk past Sarutobi Kouhi. "Good luck, show them what you can." He said and he gave her a smile. Kenshi would pass her and walk out the room towards the academy grounds. He was finally a genin, so no reason to stay inside the academy any longer.

As Ryochoku pushed the girl to step forward she would let out a little upset huff, glancing at the boy's back a bit butthurt and angered. The anger would however quickly subside as she watched his performance. The Tenshu boy was doing quite a few impressive things indeed but then he.....FAILED?!

~~ Daydream World; ~~

A large sweatdrop would appear near Kouhi's head as the girl would tip over onto the ground igniting in a nuclear explosion that would take out a large chunck of the village. Leaving her covered in black dust and debris.

[i]'How could he fail?! He showed all that!!!'[/b] The girl began to feel a little nervous the thought running in her head about what she had said earlier about only 12 being able to graduate. What if those 12 already had their spots and they are now just failing everyone who cannot top them by far. Her lower lip began to tremble nervously.

But once Kenshi did his performance she would raise an eyebrow curiously surprised and confused to see the Uzumaki succeed "Eeeeeeeeeeeh???!!!" A bit of smoke would come out of the side of her head from one ear as her eyes would become a blank white color and a large round shape at this judgement as if her inner brain computer had just gotten an error.

She shook her head shaking the strange thoughts off and gave a confused glance to the Uzumaki heir.
As if she was trying to ask the boy with her eyes what the hell was going on.

Kouhi would simply nod to Kenshi in reply to his words , she wouldn't smile back the confusion of the moment was a bit too much for the young girl to sport a smile at the moment.

She would take a deep breath and bow to the instructors.
"Alright....Prepare to feast your eyes!"
The young Sarutobi heir would exclaim before performing a few handseals as 3 clones of the girl would appear, now 4 Kouhi's standing there.
Each of the girls would begin to perform handseals as then one of them, the real one would emit a cloud of smoke.
"Katon! Kasumi Enbu no Jutsu!" The girl exclaimed covering herself and her clones in a dust of flammable smoke. But then the smoke dust would spin and start to concentrate itself into a fortex as it would envelope one of the dummies and then tear it and send it flying at one of the walls smashing it into it while leaving it covered in the flamable dust.
Fuuton! Hana Chirimai!" The girl would exclaim as the doll landed again with a thud.

The young Sarutobi would spin around on one leg before setting down the other leg with force and grace taking a victory stance with her right palm at her forehead sporting a peace sighn as her legs stood wide in an A shape. It was a bit of a strange pose but clearly a victory pose.

The teachers would look on to the Sarutobi's performance some smiling amused as she created the clones, expecting this show to go as any other normal Genin examination show of E-ranks. Especially with such a young girl that would still be impressive.
But when the fire-style technique would come out the teachers would tense up and look on with great intent. This would be followed by a Fuuton which the girl obviously used in conjunction to the fire-type technique.

"W....Wow! N....Nice work Sarutobi-san. You....uhm...only 10 and performing a total of 2 elements. And in such a formidable combination as well. Very impressive." One of the teachers would say with a nod.

Another one would stand up and point to the last forehead protector that was on the table.
"Congratulations Sarutobi Kouhi. You are now a Genin of Konohagakure. Please step up and claim your prize, the forehead protector that symbolizes you as being part of our nations military force and of you being a true shinobi. At your young age this is truly an achievement to be marveled at." He teacher said with a little bow of the head.

The Sarutobi girl would extend both hands into the air as the background behind her would turn into a flashy, rainbow covered wallpaper as fireworks began to blast and waves began to hit the rocks near the shoreline.
This would last a few seconds before she would snap back to reality.

"YES!!! Yaaaay! Yes! Yes yes yes yes yes yes yeeeeeeeeeeeees!" The little girl ran up to the table grabbing the forehead protector before jumping onto the table and suddenly giving each of the teachers a kiss on the cheek in turn while dashing over the table. Then without any word she would jump off the table with her headband and run outside like a spaz, repeating "Yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes!!!"
