Chapter 2: Classroom 30

The classroom was actualy an indoor dojo meant for sparring and practicing shuriken jutsu. It was only dimly lit but with the bright sun shining through the large windows that the dojo had it still left the large room well illuminated.near the entrance was a long table with 3 academy teachers behind it.


"Hyuuga Sumiyaka! Masamune Hayate! Hatake Mana! Please enter." One of the teachers called the trio inside at the same time it seemed.

Hyuuga Sumiyaka entered the dojo, feeling instantly at home. It was were he trained a lot. He looked around for who the teachers were, did he knew them or not? He didn't see the Hokage, that was for sure. he must be with the other three students right now, exiting. he hoped his friends there did well.
"Hyuuga Sumiyaka present." he said as he took position in the middle of the room and bowed respectfully.

Hayate nodded as his group was called inside for his test, along with the Hyuuga and the Hatake girl... Well he didn't have anything to say about these two. From what he could recall it was usually a solo exercise, but the room they were in could make it very different. He looked around curiously and wondered what it was they were going to be asked to do...

Mana walked inside, following the other two as she stood behind them as she awaited her orders. "Hatake, Mana... present" She followed the Hyuuga's example, ignoring the other boy in his silence for now.

The teachers nodded to the Hyuuga and the Hatake as those introduced themselves and waited a few seconds for the Masamune boy to do the same. But seeing he remained silent they just nodded as one would say.

"Then you are Masamune Hayate, we assume."

The teachers would take a moment looking over the students.
"Alright....Hatake Mana, you are up first. We would like to see you perform at least 3 shinobi techniques for us that would convince us to let you pass."

Hyuuga nodded to Mana, mouthing a 'goodluck' to her and take his respectfull distance so she could do her Jutsu without interfering.

"Of course..." That would be her luck, making her do her part of the test first, though she felt like she could do what she was asked. Making her way to the center of the room she proceeded to gather her chakra and form a set of hand-seals and with a puff of smoke she had changed her form to that of the teacher testing her. Her henge jutsu forming without a problem.

Her second jutsu took her longer to form, seeing as it was rather advanced for her level of skill. She broke the transformation and continued to gather her own chakra once more and two perfect copies of herself were standing either side of her. Though these were no ordinary clones it would seem, as the both walked forward a few steps and placed their hands on each other's shoulders, only to raise their arms simultaneously and cast yet another ninjutsu.

With a bright spark of brilliant blue energy, the raiton clones zapped each other, damaging and thus destabilizing to discharge in their natural element. Drained, but happy with her performance she bowed and awaited her judgment, despite feeling it may have taken her a long time to gather her energy, she felt the higher level jutsu may impress the instructors.

The teachers followed her actions intensely, paying close attention to her form and hand seals. How fast she was with them, if he hesitated and of course the result.
With the successful Henge the teachers nodded and made a mark on their clipboards.
As with the Bunshin the teachers nodded again expecting ordinary bunshin however when they stood face to face and performed a jutsu, which is something ordinary bunshin can't do, they were pleasantly surprised. The teachers looked at one another, nodded and the middle teacher stood up.

"Hatake Mana with the succesfull performance of 3 jutsu, one of which is C rank very impressive, we are pleased to award you this forehead protector and the title that goes with it. Congratulations, your father will be proud."

The teacher smiled and took a forehead protector from the pile and extended it forwards expecting Mana to take it.

Catching her breath, Mana sighed as the teachers made their decision... That was surprisingly easy actually... Well, at least she felt it was. "Thank you, I'm sure he will" she walked up carefully and bowed as she took the headband, moving back to allow the other two their turn as she fastened the piece of cloth around her forehead, under her long grey hair.

The teacher bowed as well and waited for Mana to take her place then he took up the clipboard again, glanced at it and spoke.
"Hyuuga Sumiyaka, you're up next. Show us what you got and remember, 3 shinobi techniques."

There were several training dummies in the dojo for those who would choose taijutsu techniques.

He smiled as Mana did her thing and passed. He looked at the teacher who called for him. "Hai Sensei" he said and moved to near one of the training dummies. He inhaled and exhaled, gathering chakra. Veins near his eyes were bulging as he activated his Byakugan, now he was ready to begin.

He formed the seals for the Bunshin no Jutsu technique, creating two clones of himself. He dispelled them by some simple hand-to-hand techniques before giving the training dummy a few quick successing strikes with his palm fingers, using the Hyuugas Juuken Ryuu Strike technique that would block the opponents chakra points.

Then he jumped back and formed another set of seals, lightning forming on his fingertips, and send them coursing through the dummy. It might not look much, but it would be effective against living beings for sure.

He knew he only needed to show three, but he wass on a roll and finished off with a Aoi Chakra Kaihou technique. Chakra flashed from his fingertips as he seriously hit the training dummy, sending it sprawling through the room now while the blue light of his chakra disapeared again. The dummy was more damaged becouse of his taijutsu technques then by the chakra, but if that had been a living person, that would have hurt a lot more.

He inhaled slowly, veins around his eyes disapearing again as he turned to his teachers. He bowed slightly and stood straight again, awaiting their feedback.

The examiners followed Sumiyaka's actions closely, Seeing him obliterate the dummy they nodded and the center teacher stood up once again.
"Hyuuga Sumiyaka, with the succesfull performance of 3 jutsu, and complete obliteration of one of our training dummies, we are pleased to award you this forehead protector and the title that goes with it. Congratulations. Make your clan proud."

The teacher smiled and once again took a forehead protector from the pile and extended it forwards expecting Sumiyaka to take it this time.

The teacher would then smile at Hayate, "Well it seems you're up next Masamune Hayate. Show us what you have learned." and the teacher gestured to the middle of the room.

Hayate watched the other two with a hint of interest. Sure, their flashy chakra enhanced moves were impressive... In fact being able to use such techniques at their age was rather impressive by itself. Soon enough though it was his turn to show them what he could do. "finally" he grinned as he stepped forward. Eyeing one of the combat dummies as he planned his approach.

Unlike the others, he didn't start with some basic ninjutsu, which was probably far past his reach, instead he rushed forwards as fast as he could, closing the gap between himself and his target. He shifted his weight as he got close, falling low to the ground so he could get as much energy into his attack as possibly, kicking the dummy's chin to send it flying up into the air.

Though his little combo wasn't quite done yet, with only a moment of sighting his target's airborne form he darted upwards, shadowing it's ascent until the apex of it's height, only to grab the dummy and flip it downwards, hurtling it to the floor which he soon followed.

With his leg raised he fell from the air, landing with a resounding crash as he dropped his heel upon the unsuspecting foe's 'neck' rending it's head from it's shoulders. Only after his combo was complete did he stand and brush himself off, glancing at the teacher's to see if his little show was good enough.

The teachers would glance among one another and began to whisper to eachother their eyes darting from the Hyuuga, to the Hatake and then to Hayate.

"Uhm, well....although that was a fairly impressive performance of Taijutsu...we uhm....Can't really let you pass on that performance seeing as you haven't shown us any Ninjutsu or even Genjutsu as of yet. Now if you'd be so kind to perform at least one of those for us so we can grade you completely." The Academy teacher said, obviously none of these three were familiar with Hayate's problem it seemed.

"I can't... I've never been able to mould chakra" he stated simply, brushing the rest of the dust from his clothes. "So I've trained my Taijutsu to make up for it..." he seemed confident, despite his obvious disadvantage, he wasn't leaving here without that damn headband.

The teachers looked at each-other confused once more and whispered among one another.
After a few minutes of them conversing the teachers would glance back and nod to Masamune Hayate.

"Alright, it seems we have a bit of a problem here. Your Taijutsu skills are impressive enough indeed but we are unsure whether we'd be allowed to pass you like this." One said

Another one quickly followed up apologetic.
"Yes, please excuse us for the discomfort but for now we'll have to pend our judgment about you graduating. We shall consult the Hokage in a bit and see what he decides. If it is not too much trouble we would like for you to remain near the school or inside of it while we consider your case."

The third would then finish it off.
"Sorry for the discomfort but you must understand the importance of this title, being a shinobi, even a Genin is no joke. We must seriously consider everyone who applies for it but also we must be careful not to pass people who are not ready to carry the name and the burden. Our mistake could lead to that person's death, and we wish to avoid this as much as possible." He explained.

"Fine" Hayate crossed his arms, quite obviously disappointed this situation had to arise at all. Though he didn't leave, instead just finding himself a bench to take a seat on and wait for the judgement from the Hokage... or whoever they were going to go to. He wasn't upset, or particularly angry... just disappointed.

Hyuuga Sumiaka bowed again and walked up to the desk. "Thank you Sensei" he said to the exeminators and took his forehead protector, he was now a Genin! So awesome! He was sure his parents would be proud on him when he would tell them. Ofcourse, his parents expected nothing less then this. He walked back to the side of the room, out of the way for Masamune Hayate to take his exam while putting on his new headgear.

He watched Hayate-kun do his Taijutsu techniques. He was quite surprised when he didn't do any other techniques, even though his hand-to-hand combat was cool to watch. 'Probably not as deadly as some of my techniques..' he thought. He thought it was right that he didn't get the titel of Genin. Then he looked quite surprised that the boy apparently couldn't even mold chakra. "Are there ninjas like that?..." he softly whispered to Mana-chan.

It was only a short while that he arrived at classroom 30. On his way there, he scanned through all the classrooms but they were all pretty empty at it is. Upon his arrival, he just opened the door and entered the room. Some would say the manner is lacking but he wasn't in the mood for that and he was pretty sure the room's ready since he's informed by the ANBU.

After getting into the room, he moved away from the door and leaned on a nearby wall. He was the last one to arrive the scene as the "Poison Ivy" and that Hayate dude were already there. He kept his distance from them though, unless they approach first.

He wasn't sure what's on this re-evaluation but if the Hokage himself didn't pass him, then there's nothing much to say. Speaking of Hokage, he couldn't believe he would be seeing him for a second time. The aura of dominance of the Hokage was too strong for him as he could feel him shaking a little bit just thinking about it.

Only 7 more minutes passed before the 6th Hokage would walk through the door entering the room.
Looking around the Uchiha would nod to each of the 3 Academy students individually and then proceed to walk to the center of the room.

"Come closer you three. I shall explain the rules of your re-evaluation." He said calmly but with a degree of dominance in his voice.

As the trio would begin to approach and came closer he would begin to explain.
"The three of you must each find a freshly graduated Genin...one that recently received their headband and convince them to face you in a sparring match. If you manage to defeat them...you graduate. But if you can't even succeed at convincing anyone of such a favor...well, then you fail. But I am sure the three of you sport enough talent, no?" He had a serious expression all throughout the explanation but sported a slight smirk near the end of his words.
A light chuckle would then also escape his lips before he added.
"The clock is ticking....2 more hours only before the summoning. Thus you only get one hour to do this. To bring them here and to defeat them."

He said and after a brief pause added sarcastically
"This means you should hurry."

"Well, that seems fair..." The young man thought on who he should ask, now many would have their first thought be 'someone they could beat' but how was that going to show their skills? "I've got something in mind, thank you Hokage-Sama" the boy bowed, seeing this man worthy of his respect, before leaving to go off and find his new target.

Ryochoku came closer at the request of the Hokage and listened to whole sparring deal. Shit! It would be a tough task for him as most of the test takers were not his friends so two challenges at the cost of one: find someone willing to spar him and also to win. This was turning to be one heck of a day. As the two left the room, so would him.
