The Hyuuga clan (日向一族, Hyuuga Ichizoku) is one of the four noble clans of Konohagakure. All members born into this clan possess the Byakugan, a kekkei genkai that gives them extended fields of vision and the ability to see through solid objects and even the chakra circulatory system, amongst other things, and expel chakra from any of the tenketsu in their body.

While not much is known of the clan's background, they are considered to be one of, if not currently, the most powerful clan in Konohagakure. Their notoriety and prowess stretches far and wide, leading others to both praise and covet their abilities. During the Fourth Shinobi World War, a Kumo-nin noted that they had a hard time against them during a previous war.

The clan is separated into two parts, the main house (宗家, Sōke) and the branch house (分家, Bunke), a system that protects the secrets of the Byakugan from outsiders. The main house runs the family while the branch house protects it. The members of the branch house are branded with a cursed seal upon the third birthday of the heir to the main house. This seal gives the main house members absolute control over the branch members, because they can destroy the branch members' brain cells with a simple hand seal, or cause them great pain to punish them. This seal also makes sure the secret of the Hyuuga's Byakugan is safe, because it seals the Byakugan after the wearer of the seal dies. Because they are essentially servants, simply because of their birth order or heritage, some branch house members are hostile to those of the main house.
In the past, there have been several attempts on the part of Kumogakure to acquire the dōjutsu of this clan. This even culminated in the death of the would-be-thief: the Head Ninja of Kumogakure and the demands of Hiashi's corpse who had killed him according to the stipulations in the peace treaty that the two villages had signed. Ultimately, Hizashi was the one to sacrifice his life for the village and clan, sealing away his Byakugan as he died and avoiding war. This event would become known as the Hyuuga Affair.

Due to their unique chakra type Hyuuga are incapable of casting genjutsu since this requires the users chakra to invade and deceive the sensory system. It's like mixing bloodtypes, it doesn't work.

The eye as visible above here is what the eyes of Hyuuga Clan members look like from birth and all through their life. This is what the Byakugan eye looks like when deactivated. Every member of the Hyuuga Clan soon learns to activate the Byakugan eye to receive the full benefit of it's functions. However full mastery of the Byakugan comes with experience, training and time. Therefore even though the Byakugan doesn't really have a visible difference of level like the Sharingan does, the Byakugan actually has more levels than the Sharingan.

Aoi Chakra Kaihou - Blue Chakra Release

Having the Byakugan eye is not the only bloodline ability of the Hyuuga Clan.
The Aoi Chakra is the divine chakra flowing through the noble families bodies, this chakra is the very reason their eyes are white at birth because this light blue sparkling chakra feeds them on a constant. Using Aoi Chakra through the eyes is what activates the Byakugan. In other words Aoi Chakra Kaihou is the actual bloodline limit of the Hyuuga Clan and the Byakugan is Aoi Chakra Kaihou's main asset. Shortly after birth all members of the Hyuuga Clan learn to use Aoi Chakra Kaihou through the eyes ( Byakugan) and soon thereafter they learn to use it through their palms and fingertips but true mastery of the Aoi Chakra Kaihou comes when the Hyuuga learns to release the Chakra through all parts of their body. But such mastery only comes through hard training and devotion.

This results in 2 quick and tactical strikes that only take one action. The opponent receives 1 chakra regression for every hit. This chakra wil remain in the chakra pool but is UNUSABLE. In case more strikes are delivered than there is chakra active in the system a regression threshold is put in place on newly added chakra which will become unusable equal to the additional hits.
EXAMPLE: 10 juuken strikes are made, there is 5 chakra in the opponent's pool. This chakra becomes unusable and a threshold of 5 is made meaning the opponent will have to charge 5 chakra (which will become unusable immedietly) before he can charge usable chakra again

Description: TA slightly stronger variation of the Juunken Ryu, however this version is slower and thus easier to dodge and block, therefore Hyuuga Clan members prefer not to use this version too often. The user uses chakra to both increase their movement speed and to push their chakra into the opponents chakra points blocking the chakra out. Unlike regular Juuken Ryuu this is not done by a series of quick strikes, instead the user powers a strong amount of chakra to their palms or feet and presses them against the target afterwards releasing all of the chakra at once to push the opponent backwards and strike at multiple chakra points at the same time. The opponent receives 3 chakra degeneration and strong bashing damage sending him flying backwards. The chakra that has been degenerated is still present in the target but it can no longer be used for jutsu or any other purposes. Because the user pushes such a strong force of chakra into the opponent this technique will cause damage to inner organs and cannot be blocked by any armor. If executed correctly this move is able to cripple the opponent or knock them out. Slower than regular Juunken Ryu and thus easier to block and dodge seeing as even though the move costs 3 actions it only delivers a single blow.

Description:Hakke Sanjuunishou is a Taijutsu technique unique to the Hyuuga bloodline. Hakke Sanjuunishou is a special technique passed down through the main family line. When an opponent is within the clan members divination field of attack, they can quickly begin their assault. The technique allows the clan member to use the Byakugan eye to see the inner chakra coils system. Using the Jyuuken style, they can force their chakra through their hands into the tenketsu of the opponent's body through 62 strikes. First the clan member will strike 2 times, then 4, 8, 16 and finally 32. This damage forces closes 32 tenketsu, stopping the chakra flow of the opponent. This then limits their opponents ability to use jutsu. This combo degenerates 20 of the users chakra and knocks them onto the ground also leaving them with a decent amount of bashing damage. Because the 15 strikes are performed with extremely high speed it is near impossible to block. The chakra that has been degenerated is still present in the target but it can no longer be used for jutsu or any other purposes. During damage calculation this move is calculated as 1 C-rank move + 15 chakra degeneration....The damage can be spread to all targets in range of the technique at the user's will.

Description:Hakkeshou Kaiten is a Taijutsu technique unique to the Hyuuga bloodline using the Jyuuken. Kaiten takes advantage of several of the unique abilities of the Hyuuga Clan. Byakugan gives the clan member an almost complete 360 degree view of their surroundings. This allows the member to see all angles of attack. If an attack is near, the clan member will release a large of amount of chakra from their all their tenketsu (chakra points) using the Aoi Chakra Kaihou. The member then begins to spin like a top, creating a whirling vortex that can nullify almost any attack. This move automatically nullifies all projectile attacks and all long range attacks of a quick or temporary nature. This technique only nullifies close range attacks and attacks with constant force of B rank or lower. All opponents that come into direct contact with the chakra released by this Jutsu will be send flying backwards and will receive strong bashing damage capable of knocking them down and/or out.

The chakra that has been degenerated is still present in the target but it can no longer be used for jutsu or any other purposes. During damage calculation this move is calculated as 1 B-rank move + 50 chakra degeneration....this is calculated without using the targets Focus in the calculation. The damage can be spread to all targets in range of the technique at the user's will.

Description:This Jutsu costs no action. Hakke Kuushou is a ranged Taijutsu technique utilized by the Hyuuga Clan. Extending chakra from their body, the user will thrust his palm at his target. This will send out an invisible wave of chakra which can knock his opponent back. This can either be used to extend ones regular Taijutsu or in combination with Juuken Ryu or the other Hyuuga Palm techniques in order to perform them on the target from a larger distance. Even though this skill costs no actions it can only be used in combination with other techniques

During damage calculation this move is calculated as 1 A-rank move + 75 chakra degeneration....this is calculated without using the targets Focus in the calculation. The damage can be spread to all targets in range of the technique at the user's will.
